Sometimes I forget how fascinating the Bible truly is.
Has this happened to you lately? I’ve been reading through the tiny books each day this summer, and it is incredible how many little words and phrases stand out, based on what I’m going through. And I’ve been highlighting to add a little pigment to the words and break down the story’s characters. Check out Philemon, for example:

See what I wrote at the bottom, trying to make a pun? Epiphany: Paul gifted dear Philemon with a compliment sandwich! I’d never noticed that before. (Okay, Paul’s letter is more of a complement sandwich with an “E” because he is bringing the situation of the slave Onesimus to completion.)
*Tiny books include: Titus, Jude, Philemon, Jonah, 2nd Thessalonians, Obadiah, 2nd John, 3rd John, Haggai, Nahum

NYC MISSION TEAM:
Thank you for leading in Worship yesterday, sharing experiences from the mission trip. You all are awesome!
And, because Philemon is one of my favorite books of the Bible, I’ll leave you with a reminder for all of us to treat each other like brothers and sisters. We are all important, crucial and unique; and we are all created in God’s image of love.

Happy Monday.
