Happy August!
It has been a long, long time since I’ve stopped and written on our Family blog. I’ve been so busy running around with kids, youth and adults who are members, friends and neighbors of Holmeswood, our beloved church. Happy Tuesday!
Last Week of Summer Prayer
God, help me to enjoy every moment of scorching sun (with sunscreen on).
Help me to remember that rest is really important, as my summer break is ending and school/work begins.
Thank you for the days I had to spend time with my family, friends, summer counselors and others who have cared for me.
While not every day of summer break was perfect, thank you for teaching me lessons to be kind, patient, to share, to be a friend to the lonely, and to explore the beautiful Creation that you made.
Help me to be mindful that my words and actions are very powerful; they can hurt or help others.
Remind me daily that my attitude can shape my entire day. Staying positive and aware shapes the hope that I share with people each day.
Give me strength and patience to grow and learn how to be a helper and a light in this world.
Guide me as I go from summer break to long school days, remaining thankful for your love and quick to notice ways to share your love with others.
Amen.
