Bring Out Your Fun

Happy Friday!

Who, in your life, brings out your fun???

How cool that some fruit is wearable?? My spouse, Matt, brings out my silly in the moment.

It’s a silly question with a serious undertone. When we feel safe in a space, when we feel accepted exactly as we are, then we begin to build trust among others. Eventually, those we trust get to see many sides of us (and vice versa), including vulnerable moments. These might involve sad days or hard times, and they also might be purely joyful times when you feel comfortable enough to put a watermelon ring over your head, without judgment! Haha, these are ALL holy moments.

Psalm 5:11 – But let all those who take refuge in you rejoice, let them always shout for joy, because you defend them. Let them also who love your name be joyful in you.

Just like we are invited to take refuge in God, our forever friend and Creator, we can also “be refuge” for others. In both roles among people, we must work hard to stay open to trusting each other, even if there’s risk in doing so. We put a bit of ourselves out there to let others in; based on our experiences, this can be challenging, yet the rewards of having trusted people in your life are Heaven on Earth, so life-giving!

This weekend, think of how you can be a refuge for another and how you can also take refuge in a friend. Reach out to them, pick up the phone and see how you can grow your relationship. Then, make plans for some fun together—maybe try a watermelon? 🍉 😊

Happy weekend, Beloved.

Next week is the local Youth and College Mission Trip! If you have some home chores or outdoor yard work/cleaning that our team could do for you, please let me know ASAP by email or phone call. We would love to serve our community in this way.
